How-to information for transit coordination in Minnesota
Monday, March 5
This webinar highlighted two organizations that have established metro area one-stop call centers using mobility management strategies. One presentation explored how Ride Connection has become the go-to resource for connecting individuals who experience barriers to transportation access with programs and tools that help them meet their unique needs. Ride Connection, which operates in the Portland, Oregon, metropolitan region, uses a one-stop call center and travel coaching services to introduce customers to a variety of transportation options and guide them toward the best option for any given trip.
In the other presentation, attendees learned about the Transportation Resource Information Point (TRIP) program of Central Maryland Regional Transit (CMRT). TRIP is a one-call/one-click transportation resource program operating in the Baltimore region. The one-click TRIP website allows viewers to quickly see a variety of transportation options from area service providers in one easy-to-use location. The one-call TRIP hotline allows customers, human service agencies, and partner organizations to receive immediate information and assistance.
This webinar is sponsored by the Minnesota Council on Transportation Access (MCOTA), which was established by the Minnesota Legislature in 2010 to "study, evaluate, oversee, and make recommendations to improve the coordination, availability, accessibility, efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and safety of transportation services provided to the transit public."
